Meet Our Teachers

Tina Rudoni
Director/ Teacher
Mrs. Rudoni has been teaching preschool for over 24 years. She taught at St. Vincent’s in Shepherd for 8 years and began teaching at FUMC in 2011, where she took over as Director in 2015. Mrs. Rudoni has a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Central Michigan University, is CPR & First Aid certified and is a member of the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children. Her husband, Steve, works for Northland and does the maintenance work for KFC and Taco Bells. They have 3 children- Steve, Mikale and Sabrina. Steve graduated from Sacred Heart in 2013 and is an Executive Chef at Camille's in Mt. Pleasant. Mikale graduated from Sacred Heart in 2015 and is the Head Cook at Summit Smokehouse in Mt. Pleasant. Sabrina graduated from Sacred Heart in 2020 and works at Jenny's Daycare in Blanchard. They have a Chocolate Lab Dog named Coco. Mrs. Rudoni loves spending time with her family, dog and friends, going to the beach or pool, playing games, watching movies, doing fun day trips and traveling. Mrs. Rudoni likes to help her husband with their BBQ Business they do on the side for family and friends. She has volunteered at Sacred Heart schools and sporting events for many years and continues to volunteers with her husband Steve in the Lion’s Club. Mrs. Rudoni looks forward to meeting many new faces and impacting many new children and their lives.

Before our oldest child turned two, my husband and I started researching local preschools. We heard about FUMC’s Preschool from a co-worker and we started to do some research and contacted the Church and asked quite a few questions about their curriculum and how they ran their program. We liked everything we heard and signed our son up once he became of age, and our daughter followed him 2 years later. They had Mrs. Recker as their teacher and learned and grew so much during their time there. It definitely prepared them for primary school. We couldn’t have asked for a more loving and nurturing environment for them. The classroom and outside play area were amazing. This was in the middle to late 1990s.
In 2021 our daughter, now married and with children, started looking for a preschool for their young ones to attend. FUMC Preschool was the first and only place they contacted because they knew after talking to us and a few friends how wonderful their program is. Our granddaughter just finished her first year at FUMC in the 3 year old class with Mrs. Rudoni and Ms. Decker and she absolutely loved it. She learned and experienced so many new and exciting things and made a lot of friends and absolutely adored her teachers. She is excited to attend the 4 year old class in the fall and her younger brother will be in the 3 year old class. She is the 2nd generation to attend preschool at FUMC as both her mom AND dad went there, along with her aunt and uncle.

“My daughter started at FUMC as a timid 3-year old; shy, and unsure of anything new. She has now completed both years of preschool, and is a whole new girl! She has completely come out of her shell, and is beyond prepared for Kindergarten. She’s grown and learned so much in the last two years; not to mention LOVED the monthly field trips. FUMC preschool is the perfect balance of education, fun, Kindergarten prep, and kind-hearted teachers. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience!”

FUMC preschool has been wonderful. The teachers are extremely caring and patient. They made my children feel welcome, so they were always excited to go to school. The preschool does an excellent job of focusing on the development of social skills and kindergarten readiness. They are always finding ways to make learning fun and interactive. All three of my children have really thrived at the preschool and were well prepared to start kindergarten. I highly recommend the FUMC preschool!

"My son attended the preschool for 2 years and we loved it! As a 3 year old most people had a hard time understanding him, the teachers picked up on his lack of speech right away and recommended he be evaluated for speech therapy. This was all done at the preschool through the GISD. He qualified for therapy, the speech therapist came to the school (so no extra trips or appointments) and at no cost to us. The improvements he made in those 2 years is incredible and currently he is back on track for his age. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for him." ---Renee S.
"Both of my daughters attended FUMC Preschool for 2 years each. My favorite part was the small class sizes. The teachers were able to give a lot of individualized attention while also allowing each child to work on their social skills. The class is structured age appropriate and rules are clearly defined for the children. The curriculum involves learning through play! Such a great thing for preschoolers.
